Expensive, difficult and innovative, The Globe and Mail's Talking to the Taliban project combines analysis and daring video interviews with 517 Taliban fighters. No one fighter said much, but overall their answers reveal a great deal about the fears and anger that prolong the resistence in Afghanistan. And, oh yeah, the project beat the New York Times for the Emmy for New Approaches to News and Documentary.
