INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Global website lists history, upcoming events.
In a capitalist economy, they say you know you've arrived when major companies start pitching ads specifically to you. Cisco Computer systems, HSBC bank and Deloitte consultants are supporting a large International Women's Day website, which lists 339 events in 35 countries. The site is very useful and very politically correct, and looks like a project developed by women working within the companies. Yet somehow, the idea that IWD can be so very mainstream is a bit disturbing.
