There are so many twists and turns before 2015: elections in BC and Quebec, to name only two. Still, it would be so heartening to see the NDP and Liberals at least being civil to each other and concentrating on the vital task at hand. It seems as though they don't really recognize the seriousness of the situation, so locked are they in futile pecking at each other — truly like cocks fighting while the fox is in the hen-house.
I can genuinely see value in the traditions of both parties. They don't have to give them up. All they have to do is cooperate for one election, or maybe two if necessary; get the electoral system fixed, diminish the power of the PMO; then go back to their traditional paths again if they wish.
