Quite honestly I don't understand how such things get to this point, especially if the company is unionized, as are not the Unions responsible for keeping an eye on such things. There again, what about the employees themselves, maybe the reason things get to this state is due to their complacency and taking too much for granted. Unfortunately these days, it seems to me that many Canadians just don't pay enough attention to what is going on around them, they expect everything they need to be there for them and everything to be organized and run smoothly without any effort on their part. Unfortunately with each generation it's getting worse, as many parents today don't teach their children they have a responsibility to themselves as well as to others and they need guidance in recognizing those responsibilities as they get older. The most important of these, at least in my mind, is the handling of finances, having the responsibility to pay their way at home once they start earning; even if the parent returns it later, understanding banking arrangements, the responsibilities of a mortgage or loan and how to budget in order to know what you can or cannot afford. As far as being in a Company pension plan, is it not the employees responsibility to know how the company is handling the funds, by their giving out an annual report or financial statement, as after all that is their money and they have a right to safeguard it.

In general declining pension plans are not our only problem these days and unless more Canadians take note of what is going on and letting the Government know how they feel about it, we may end up losing not only our pensions but our country and its resources as well.

DEMAND THE MP YOU CHOOSE TO VOTE FOR, WILL VOTE ACCORDING TO THE MAJORITY OF HIS PARTY IN YOUR AREA, NOT AS DICTATED BY HIS OR HER LEADER; BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY VOTE. CONSTANTLY MAKE SURE HE OR SHE IS DOING THE BEST FOR YOU ACCORDING TO THE PARTY PROMISES THEIR LEADER IS RESPONSIBLE TO LIVE UP TO AND IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED, DEMAND HIS OR HER RESIGNATION. IN A DEMOCRACY THE PEOPLE ARE THE POWER AND UNLESS WE FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS, WE CAN ONLY BLAME OURSELVES WHEN WE LOSE; NOT ONLY WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS, BUT WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY OUR CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN'S HERITAGE.
