There are important lessons to be learned here for New Democrats across the country. It is a pitiful waste of our time to try to reach the financial/corporate/business community. Our values are not their values. In British Columbia we saw the deliberate and endless attacks on the Barrett government by the mining interests with their overt capital strike. The private media were (and it is hard to see how this will ever change) aggressively in opposition to the many excellent programs and ideas presented. Interestingly they have not been able to undermine the auto insurance but have played with the gradual destruction of the Agricultural Land Reserve by supporting developers, and have threatened the Islands Trust from time to time for similar reasons.

My point is that the NDP cannot play ball with corporations, so let's not try. There are, after all, way more 'little people' than those of the power elite, and the NDP needs to reach them and vote the rightwingers out. We can use other ways of providing for a safe earth and decent lives than those we are condemned to if power remains with the right. Maybe we need to spend time observing in those parts of South America where the little people have taken over. Or in Mondragon. Or in parts of Italy.

Will we have to wait for the effects of global warming to get people, including some New Democrats, to wake up?

Funny, conservative and liberal governments have been putting up with threats, lies, exaggerations and just plain old stupidity from entitlement lefties since the the beginning of time. If you can't take the heat, get out of government..... Oh sorry, Ontario NDPs already did. LOL!
