Why are we, particularly in B.C., not looking seriously at geothermal electrical power? This is well established technology. Iceland gets 100% of its power this way, Hawaii gets 25% if its power this way. The B.C. government has already mapped the province for hot spots and they are everywhere. This is local, green and perpetual. Yes it is a little more expensive but only in the short term. It puts power where you need it when you need it with local jobs and limited footprint.
