Labour has a weapon and it is their pocketbook, too often they have complained about the pressure on wages but where do they shop, Walmart. The rush to buy stuff has left us oblivious to the effects of buying things that aren't made in Canada. We can't even buy a pair of shoes made in Canada anymore and that didn't happen because people quit wearing shoes.

Rally your forces, the battle may be just begining but the war began a long time ago! Time for Canadians to take their heads out of the sand (would really like to use a more acurate term) and realize what has been going on for YEARS! The legislation forcing Unions back to work takes away your rights to fair bargaining. Most of the benefits the PRIVATE SECTOR enjoy have been gained on the backs of Organized Labour, i.e. minimum wage, overtime, pensions, most of these items were acquired first by Unions and then picked up by employers to attract workers away from joining a union they offered similar bemefits. To suggest we are buying shoes or other goods because of price at Walmart is not entirely correct. If you dig deeper you will find few, if any CANADIAN MANUFACTURED GOODS anymore, let alone Canadian Owned Stores!.....WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BAY CO. is it now owned by a U.S. BASED FIRM?

Thank you for this article. This pretty well sums up what is happening in Canada today. I suspect those new big prisons may be for striking workers and protesters in the future.
