I am outraged at the Harper government for deciding that low income people need to have their refunds in monthly installments, instead of a lump sum! They seem to think we are not responsible enough to use it wisely! I avoid paying interest on any thing, I pay my bills before the due date and I pay my credit cards in full each month and have never payed interest on them. I count on my tax refund to pay my auto and home insurance so I don't have to pay 4% interest when payed in installments! I have put off going to the dentist to have a broken tooth fixed $700.00 until I get my refund! How dare this government assume that low income people spend their money frivolously! I am a 73 years old retired senior and I raised 2 daughters on my own and managed to save for my retirement. This government will force me to either pay 4% interest on my insurance payments, or more tax if I take more money from my RIF to pay my bills! I am not irresponsible! THE HARPER GOV. IS! Will they pay me interest on my monthly instalments???

It's not the taxes that Canadians don't like its the waste and abuse. Most Canadians recognize that we need taxes to fund our healthcare and other essential services but when they see politicians wasting the money on perks for their friends it becomes a different issue. Also the unfairness of the taxes with the burden being largely carried by the middle class while corporations and executives pay very little on profits and compensation. If a corporation is to be considered a person with the same rights then their tax bill should be the same and stock options paid to executives need to be taxed as income from the start. The right tends to paint taxes with a wide brush saying they are all bad, the left needs to point out where the money goes and who is not paying their fair share, it might take a while but Canadians aren't stupid although lots aren't paying attention and that plays into the right wing as well.

What upsets Canadians is money spent on gazebos and fake lakes and jobs that give tory friends mega bucks for jobs that are unecessary, do nothing and accomplish nothing of any value to anybody
